Actually, that TRISTAN was to be with Deborah Voigt; she told PARTERRE
BOX last year that she had actually begun coaching the part with Sir
Georg -- this was just a few months before his death.  Alessandra Marc
was also up for the part of Isolde in this project, as she notes in an
interview in the current OPERA NEWS.

As for "exclusive" contracts:  Eaglen is exclusive with Sony and
Pavarotti is exclusive with Decca. And yet, the two of them contracted
for a recording of  TURANDOT based on live performances at the Met last
season.  Obviously one of those "exclusive" contracts is going to have to
show some flexibility.

Hey, even Spider-Man and Superman showed up in the same comic book once
upon a time.  These things can be worked out.
