I'm curious about the list's opinion of tenor Peter Schreier.
I have him on four Mozart operas (ABDUCTION, COSI, IDOMENEO
and CLEMENZA DI TITO), all conducted by Karl Bohm. The man
clearly has a rock-solid technique, but the voice has a hardness
that irritates. The tone is seldom sweet, often barking.
Has anyone else had this impression, and are there any recordings
that portray him in a more favorable light?
