Hi there
Nothing could be further from the case. Bing made some sniffy noises sometimes about  Met audiences paying high Met prices to hear what had formerly been NYCO singers, but in practice the Met hired NYCO singers starting right away , in the Johnson era. 

It's not just a question of superstars like Sills and Ramey!
