I don't get this...so Sundays are usually dark at the Met....so with this new idea, the house has to be open, have staff (paying them I assume the overtime weekend rates), extra security, the restaurants and bar areas open, stocked and staffed, the gift shop open,box office staff, stage hands, ushers--everything as on a normal day.  How does that save the Met money??   if Sundays still have rows of empty seats...and remember the tourist trade which might opt for Broadway over the Met---they will be competing with those Sunday matinees too.
