Subject: Re: Levine back on Sirius

text/plain (21 lines)

The idea that the Met would ban Levine-led performances from Sirius because he diddled
some teenagers 40 years ago, or for any other reason (including if he murdered Nezet-Seguin
in a fit of jealous rage) was always preposterous. A huge chunk of their recorded legacy
would go out the window, including about 20 years of great Ring performances. Like so much
else Gelb does in the P.C. arena, dropping Levine performances from Sirius was just posturing
and virtue signaling and never more than a temporary empty gesture.
