If you don't subscribe to Conrad L. Osborne's blog, get thee there and
quickly.  He just published the 2nd installment of his articles on La Forza
Del Destino and the death or shall I say, current and long standing absence
of great Verdi singers of the kind who could on a daily basis in the major
opera houses of the world deliver the big Verdi and indeed, all big Italian
works with a voice, style and authority that is no longer.  Read it and
weep.  But please, start with Part 1.
