I would say that Tatyana made the right decision, listening to her head (and her common 
sense) instead of her heart.  Life with Gremin may not be the most exciting in the world, but 
life with Onegin would be walking on shifting sand (and as a social outcast, too).  I find 
Tatyana one of the few thoroughly admirable characters in opera.
