I just saw a video on Facebook (posted by an outraged opera fan on another forum) from the recent production of the Paris Opera of La Boheme, that takes the crown. Poor Sonia Yoncheva shares the stage with astronauts while she is pouring her heart out to a Marcello (in act 3) who is not dressed like an astronaut, but moves like an automaton. The whole thing seems to be taking place on the moon. Look it up, you wont believe it…

    1. Parsifal, Hamburg Opera September 2017. Gurnemanz had 2 heads, Parsifal was a clown, and Kundry
tried to seduce Parsifal maintaining her looks as an ugly old woman.

    2. Rigoletto, Munich Opera. The Planet of the Apes, with a bunch of hairy gorillas, except the Duke who was
    an astronaut.

    3. Macbeth, Munich Opera. 100 choristers and soloists urinating on stage.

    4. Salome, Deutsche Oper Berlin. The setting: a circus

    5. Cavalleria Rusticana at the Met. A sunny Easter Sunday… in pitch darkness

    6. Siegfried in Bayreuth. Two crocodiles copulate while Erda gives a blow job to Wotan.
