the ending last night was sublime with that long period of silence.  You could feel the moment right there and the audience resisting the applause which would break it.  Unfortunately, that did happen.  I would prefer that the soloists, chorus and orchestra just leave in silence, as well as the audience-- has anyone ever experienced that, or is there always applause?
