Could not disagree more; was there tonight (2/5).  Production disgusting beyond 
belief.  Jovanovich only impressive singer -- has boosted the sound in a healthy 
way, and is a completely valid Siegmund.  Owens has no business singing Wotan 
anywhere, if only because he cannot be counted on to sing above D without going 
hoarse or missing the note entirely; tone monochromatic and not in the least 
impressive enough for this great role.  Goerke in a way the worst, since she has 
been progressively poorer every time I have seen her.  Now pronounced flutter in 
middle makes legato impossible and pitch often on the low side; lines also collapse 
at end.  The top has become the infamous 'tone cluster' where a note could be 
anything between A and B -- who knows what she's aiming at.  Sir Andrew bored 
and pedestrian.  Terrible performance in a production that is the antithesis of art.
