Can anyone confirm the name of the small eatery behind the War Memorial where many musicians and performers go?  As I recall it is inside maybe a half blockand on a little side street.

Lers Ros: on Hayes; best Thai food in SF (or almost so)

A Mano: excellent pastas on Hayes but does not accept reservations; worth getting there at opening time.

Monsieur Benjamin:  on Gough;French brasserie but must reserve in advance; busy; not cheap; very good

Nojo: reasonable Japanese on Franklin. very good.

Plaj: Scandinavian, on Fulton near Franklin; pricy but can be reasonable if you order carefully.

Rich Table: on Gough; pricy; one of SF’s better restaurants

Max’s on VanNess: lousy Jewish deli

Barcino: new Spanish restaurant; Have not been there yet; got good reviews.

Hayes Street Grill: pricy seafood restaurant; reserve in advance.  Generally very good but not great.

Suppenkuche: deafening German on Laguna and Hayes; pretty good food if you want to lose some of your cochlear hair cells.

Patxi’s pizzeria: on Hayes. a little further away; fair pizza.

Corridor: on Van Ness; good food and reasonable; if reserved for upstairs in advance, works like a regular restaurant; walk-ins like a cafeteria but food still very good.

Not visited in a long time: Indigo, Absinthe, Jardiniere (very expensive)

That wraps it up from my end.
