"... she was welcomed by Olin Downes as one of the greatest Violettas ever! . . . Now the
question is: where else DID she sing?

Olin Downes was definitely a fan, and though he had a few criticisms of her Met debut
(opposite Björling in "Boheme"), he nonetheless went on about her for several paragraphs.
Of course she was a world class beauty and in "society" known as "The Baroness Daubek,"
so there was always something to talk about regarding Ms. Novatna.

As to where else she sang, she made her debut in Prague (her homeland) taking on several
major roles there before moving on to Vienna, Berlin, Verona, Naples, Salzburg . . .

She also created the role of Giuditta for Lehar.

A photo of the captivating Violetta Mr. Downes spoke of can be seen here.
