I met Norman backstage Cincinnati after a concert. He was very cordial and signed a CD of his I had. He did seem a little sad, but think many artists are exhausted after a concert after they, like he, have given so much.

Some more international appearances by Norman Treigle include:
1955 Comte des Grieux opposite de los Angeles and Campora in Mexico City
Raimondo in Havana, 1956; he returned as Ramfis opposite Tebaldi and Rankin, 1957

Olin Blitch in SUSANNAH with Phyllis Curtin and Richard Cassilly at the Brussels World Fair in 1958
ELIJAH in Puebla, Mexico with Sills and Domingo, and the Verdi REQUIEM there with Sills and Beverly Wolff in 1967. ELIJAH the same year in Lima, Peru with Sills and Domingo.
LES CONTES D'HOFFMANN in Mexico City with Sills and Domingo in 1967 and in Santiago de Chile in 1968 with Sills and Marti
GIULIO CESARE in Buenos Aires with Sills, Forrester and Peter Schreier under Richter in 1968
I imagine there were more appearances, maybe particularly in Mexico.

Cheers - David Shengold
