Not a sigh, but a gasp:  the Met's old Zeffirelli production of Otello, when there was a 
blackout during the trumpet calls after the "Questa e una ragna" trio, and then the lights 
blazed up again on the big C major "Evviva!" chorus, with the magnificent set and costumes 
for the next scene.  That coup de theatre invariably drew gasps and applause.
