Has anyone come to Bard to see Dworak’s Dimitrij?

I am very curious what listers who have seen it thought about it. I had only heard it once before in the concert performance by Odyssey Opera in Boston, I loved it, and I think they made much needed cuts then, because this production felt endless (at 4 hours), though very beautiful; the opera sags badly in the third act, and the direction (or lack of thereof) did not help.
The singing by voices I had never heard of was top notch, particularly the Marfa, a mezzo named Nora Sourouzian with a gorgeous voice, I was mesmerized by her, hope to catch her again somewhere … The tenor, Clay Hilley, has a wonderful bright and very powerful young heldentenor voice but his stage presence is nonexistent, of the park and bark variety, which is such a pity. The sopanos singing Xenia and Marina were also very strong. The set was hideous, one having to stare at the same screaming blue wall with enormous red letters in cyrillic (only Russians know what they meant) for all that time upstaging the singers, most of whom were doing their best to overcome the background. The opera is a rare jewel, especially for those who love the music of Dworak, and worth the trip for those who are not too far. Two more performances this weekend.
