Leontyne Price most definitely deserves a well written biography. Her rise to the "top of the world" was certainly one that is unlike any other. She stands alone as the first international prima donna of color (Despite her fabulous accomplishments, and they were formidable, Marian Anderson does not fit into this category). Price was the heiress of much of the Milanov repertoire at the Met and elsewhere. I'd love to see a classy biography written about her. Not a gushy exercise in idolatry such as the two accorded to Tebaldi, and certainly nothing like the multitudes of books on Callas - but simply a high-level documented story of her wonderful life. I also think that Zinka Milanov deserves a book (she's alluded to in many), and also Albanese, a most unique and individual artist. Both of these sopranos, who were contemporaries, were a vital and important part of the American musical scene over a long period of time.
