text/plain (32 lines)

Zaza in Leoncavallo's opera is a cabaret singer. She even has a moment
when she vocalizes before going on stage.

The Madrigal singer in Manon Lescaut, and the song vender in Il Tabarro.

Did anyone mention Manrico? He is a troubador.

Antonia in Hofmann isn't a professional singer, but she wants to be. Her
mother was, and she sings. (a nice trick, wehn you're dead!)

La Perichole and Pequillo in Offenbach's operetta are street singers.

Alfred inb Fledermaus is a singer. In the original dialogue he is
Orlowski's singing teacher!

Lakmé isn´t actuallly a singer, but she sings the bell song.
