Robert Sutherland, the accompanist for most of the Callas/DiStefano
concerts, wrote how difficult it was at every concert because not only did
the singers select the arias/duets to be performed as the recitals
unfolded, but they would decide before each selection whether they would be
taking the original key or a downward transposition.  So he had to be able
to play both versions of everything and that was especially difficult with
"Suicidio".
