I think it is tacky as hell for serious artists to get involved with such an event. It looks like a bid for attention outside of artistic activity.
Notice one singer has already claimed to be sick.
For artists to espouse a humanitarian cause, or work in favor of one by donating time and money is a worthy activity.
To participate in a party that is meant to spoil a big day like the inauguration is infantile and gratuitous publicity seeking. It has no place in the life of a serious artist.
