A very few comments.

I love the opera and thought it decently, though far from
memorably sung, for the most part.

"Va pensiero" is always a goosebumpy moment, and so it
was today. The encore sounded splendid.

Placido Domingo is a miracle. His intonation and steadiness
of tone are simply breathtaking, and it's all wrong. As an
exhibition of "how to" it was textbook, but as an exhibition
of the role of Nanucco, whose tonal colors and vocal weight
scream for, no, they demand a true baritone sound, this was
a self indulgent ego trip that has no place on the opera stage.

But, you gotta tip the old hat to his vocalism. It is remarkable.

For the rest, it would be nice to have a bass with low notes.
