Very sad news. We have lost many wonderful posters on the list. Bob was a very generous man and always responded to my inquiries.  May he rest in peace.Bill Fiorelli

David and listers,
Just the other day I was noticing we had not received our wonderful weekly dose of Robert's incisive and informative SIRIUS listings. I simply figured he was on a break or perhaps a vacation from this horrid cold. Now I see that I was wrong and he has sadly taken the break that few of us yearn for. He will be sorely missed by all those on this list who knew him, and even hundreds, perhaps thousands more, who appreciated and learned from his contributions on this medium. This last month we have lost some precious listers and I for one know they cannot be replaced. I can only hope that we go on to debate and moreso, appreciate, our love of opera in their memories.
I am not sure if anyone here can relay condolences to Robert's family and dear ones, but I am sure we all extend our prayers to them in this difficult time.
May the New Year bring health and happiness to all of us, and no more loss or ill will.

ALAN SAVADA of Washington, DC

Bob went around the world in his passion for opera, but the Met was his special temple. He enjoyed an outstanding career as a librarian and computer specialist. He carved a special niche for himself with his insightful analysis of the Metropolitan broadcasts on Sirius Radio. Bob was a close friend of mine for more than fifty years. His death is an overwhelming loss for me and for all who knew him.
