Utter nonsen. VDLA recorded a wonderful version of Canteloube's chants
d'Auvergne as 'late' as 1969 moreover her 1967 Zarzuela record is a
treasure and even more impressive. From the gorgeous Zapateado from La
Tempranica to the 'Babylonian' couplets from la corte del Faraon...great
singing and a desert island disc.

As for Callas : her 1969 recording of "Arrigo! ah parla a un cor" is another
example of great singing.
