On the other hand, maybe he left because he was bored.  That second act was nearly 2 hours 
long.  Occam's Razor.  

Lots of good eateries around Lincoln Center.  Maybe he was feeling peckish and wanted a 
nosh.

MDW (who loved every minute of the second act, and who is in any case not inclined to climb 
inside the head and divine the thoughts and intentions of someone he doesn't even know)
