Minnesota Opera's world premiere of "The Shining" is now available - through the end of November - for free streaming of the entire opera.

Paul Moravec is the composer, libretto by Mark Campbell, for this adaptation of Stephen King's 1977 novel about a family haunted by ghosts at a remote mountain hotel. The book was also the source of Stanley Kubrick's 1980 movie, but there was a dispute between King and Kubrick; the opera - according to Minnesota Opera - "hews much more closely to King's original vision" -
