The same rule applies to hard/soft C - the difference between "ci" (pronounced "chee") and 
"chi" (pronounced "key"), for instance. 

Sometimes it has to happen with plurals or verb conjugations as well - for instance "vago" 
to "vaghi" or "pago" to "paghi."

But in terms of the Italian text in Aida, it's only Radames, not Rhadames. If someone like 
Jellinek wanted to make it seem more "Egyptian" with the h in there, ok for him, but it's 
not what Verdi used. ;-)
