Forsooth Opera Lovers!

Today we can celebrate the birthdays of:

Pablo Elvira (1937-2000)
Cornell MacNeil (1922-2011)
Ettore Bastianini (1922-1967)
Andrzej Panufnik (1914-1991)

Also, Sullivan's "Hadden Hall" and Herbert's "The Red Mill" premiered on
this date in 1892 and 1906, respectively.

Let us remember Andre Gretry (1741-1813) and Christopher Hogwood
(1941-2014) who joined Heaven's Choir on this date.

The quote for today is: “I never met a pig I didn't like. All pigs are
intelligent, emotional, and sensitive souls. They all love company. They
all crave contact and comfort. Pigs have a delightful sense of mischief;
most of them seem to enjoy a good joke and appreciate music. And that is
something you would certainly never suspect from your relationship with
a pork chop.”     Christopher Hogwood.

As always, a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our birthday artists for today and
all forum members who share their birthday with them.
