How about Torsten Kerl? I recently watched his Paul in Die Tote Stadt -
this role seems like three Otellos rolled into one in terms of difficulty &
effort. Mr Kerl had everything - strength, endurance, power, a solid top &
managed to pour out some sweet tones as well. The amazing thing was that he
had plenty to spare & did not run out of steam at the end after hours of
grueling singing & intense acting.

Does anyone, by the way, know if he has undertaken Otello?

DonPaolo
