Yes, I think that "Sweeney Todd" is operatic and quite wonderful,
both as music and as drama, BUT, venue has nothing to do with
it! IT is the ony thing that has to do with what IT is!

I will not argue, btw, with those who do not see it as opera, or even
operatic!
