Yes, and over two hundred years ago, they even invented the
adjective quixotic [kwiksotik], which
comes in quite handy at times.  I wouldn't pronounce it any
other way.

Ah, those Brits! They pronounce "Don Juan" as "don JOO-en"
too. And
that's been going on a long time. Apparently that's the
right
pronunciation when reading Byron's poem.
