Carmen airs tomorrow (Wednesday May 19) night on the Houston PBS
affiliate, KUHT HD2. It is scheduled for 7-10 PM and their program
schedule says that it's duration is 2 hours 57 minutes.

Subject: PBS - WNET - Carmen Broadcast, etc.

Hi Everybody,

The broadcast of Carmen on the local PBS station here in Michigan (Detroit
area - Comcast provider) was missing
the final scene. 150 minutes were allotted instead of the needed 180
minutes. I called my local PBS station and
was told that they simply air the feed from WNET in NYC (phone number:
212-560-1313). I called and the
respondent said it was the first he had heard about the problem.

So, did anyone else lose the final scene of Carmen broadcast by PBS this
past Sunday?

This is the third broadcast that has been botched in the Great Performances
at the Met series. The Aida
had the video and audio out of sync. The Rosenkavalier was completely
garbled. And now Carmen
is incomplete.

So much for the slogan, A Great Nation Deserves Great Art.

I was told by WNET to call back tomorrow and speak with a supervisor, Mr.
Jason Salt. His number is
202-560-3093. Perhaps if others also call, this can be given the attention
it deserves.
