text/plain (25 lines)

On Maria Mandini herself, Grove Opera tells us that apparently she was not a remarkable singer, but her husband was Stefano Mandini (1750? - 1810?) who was a very important baritone of the day-- he created the roles of Almaviva in Paisiello's Barber of Seville, and Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, among other prominent roles.

According to contemporaries, she was good-looking. Couldn't have hurt. ;)
