One that threatened to turn violent was between Corelli and Del Monaco. For
sizzling letters on the subject from Rudolf Bing and others see my
forthcoming book Franco Corelli and a Revolution in Singing.

 

Olivero and Gavazzi come to mind..

 

Ivy mentioned Simionato and Barbieri. The bitching actually isn't in the
film Opera Fanatic but in the booklet that accompanied the VHS version, an
expanded edition of which is available as a free download on the Bel Canto
Society site.
