Yes...who can forget her searing portraits as Ortlinde in "Walküre," as 
heard on the Met stage or that Karajan recording that featured her in the 
same role, or her Met Masha in "Pique Dame," or perhaps her Kate Pinkerton 
in "Butterfly" or her Mamma Lucia in "Cavalleria?"

...and let's not forget her Alice in "Lucia" at the Met opposite Pavarotti 
and Scotto?  And more!

Carlotta Ordassy managed to convince as Lady Macbeth's Lady-in-waiting for 
that RCA recording of the opera that featured Leonie Rysanek.

Her mezzo-soprano voice was rather undistinguished, but serviceable 
enough...and did not turn any heads.  But, as we all know, artists like 
Carlotta Ordassy are essential for a big repertory house like the Met.
