Dear Listers,
You will all be saddened to hear that Sir Richard Hickox has passed away.
About 12 hours ago he suffered a massive heart attack in his London based home.
I remember performing in productions of Lady Macbeth, The Love of Three
Oranges and Jenufa for Opera Australia and always found him to be a devoted
musician and a perfect gentleman with a terrific sense of humour. He will be
sorely missed by so many people that its impossible to list them all. My
thoughts go out to his wife and children at this time.
He of cause leaves behind a wonderful recording legacy and an Opera
Australia who are all, as you can imagine, in a state of shock.
Vale Sir Richard.
Jamie Allen
