Hummm. There are seven American orchestras in the top twenty, one third of the total. LA has moved ahead of Boston and New York and SF now appears in such rankings. Seems like there was some "updating." Most of "usual suspects" are present and the fact that there are no French orchestras is entirely understandable. Paris is a regular stop for the European orchestras on the list and they are always not to be missed. Christoph Eschenbach, formerly of unhappy Philadelphia (not on list) and still finishing his last years with unhappy Orchestre de Paris (also not on list) will soon work his magic on DC.
