Greetings, All!
Those who have been following this thread may be interested to
know that there is a novel about Mme Nordica's last days. The
author is Thomas Shapcott and the title, "Theatre of Darkness."
The publication date on my copy (Vintage Press) is 1998.
Visitors to Maine may wish to know about the Nordica Museum,
housed in the soprano's childhood home in Farmington (about
a 1 and 1/2 hour drive from Portland). The collection includes
many of the soprano's costumes, scores, and many photographs.
Well worth a visit (at least in the summer!!).
C M Goodwin
