There is too much around with Ponselle that was sanctioned by her that has
transpositions for her to have objected.  Like the Traviata and lots of  things
she did on radio that were readily available while she was still alive
including things recorded at Villa Pace that she gave out to people.  I  think she
realized she had one of the voices of the century and only idiots who  try to
compare her to others who had the high notes but not the voice would  complain.

There are some singers for whom one does not complain about
transpositions....Flagstad, Ponselle, Caruso, and Traubel.  Everyone else  is fair game:)
