It was written

"It would not be the first time the
current administration of Los Angeles Opera has been less than truthful
to sell tickets. This is the same administration of Los Angeles Opera
that announced and sold tickets to productions of War & Peace ,
Incoronazione di Poppea and this season, Sweeney Todd, that it did not,
could not or will not produce, with the refunds offered minimal at best."

Amen to this. And to think I used to believe it when they told us that: a)
the composer
was sick (Monteverdi !!!) b) or they discovered a sudden copyright conflict
(Sweeney Todd)
or c) they left their wallet in their other purse (War and Peace). But ah-
the substitutions
Mr. Domingo signing duets in his pajamas.
