Not that this is any kind of a justification, but Kronos Quartet several
years ago released short CD's by several composers--Piazzola, Golijov,
etc. which were supposed to be priced as "singles". Certainly an odd
concept but some interesting music. I equally decry their coyness about
providing little or no documentation in most of their CD's about the works
they play.
