Salut, Pierre!
   I agree with all that you've said, save: for international tenor, although
the elegant Krauss and the ubiquitous Domingo did and do sing in the major
languages of opera and Zarzuela, they can never equal Gedda's linguistic
ability (including the Scandinavian and Russian tongues) with his impeccable
pronunciation in each, or his range of repertoire. In addition, Mr. Gedda is
still singing at 80-ish.
