Another question that maybe someone can explain for me:
I asked my mate why Romeo "just happened to have" a poison vial inside
his shirt and the answer was, "because he knew Juliette was dead and
wanted to join her."
I found that answer unacceptable. The reason being that I recall Friar
Laurence telling her that both he and Romeo would be there when the
potion wore off and she awakened -- and of her fear about "what if they
didn't show and she was stuck awakening alone to ghosts and dead bodies
of Tybalt etc."
So Romeo couldn't have planned his death in advance could he or is there
something I am missing? (Did someone get to him and tell him wrongly
that Juliette had died?) And where would he have gotten a vial of poison?
Wouldn't the Friar have had to give him that?
And what of the Friar never showing up with Romeo as planned by the two
of them?
